Re: [802SEC] +++ ECM +++ Approval of Liaison to 3GPP +++ Early Close
Steve
I vote approve and have the following editorial comments:
"5GHz" should be "5 GHz" throughout. (i.e., units are separated from the
number by a space)
Slide 10: "that 3GPP do not" should be "that 3GPP does not"
Slide 14:
"for issues related coexist between systems"
should be
"for issues related to coexistence between systems"
Slide 15:
"parameters to maximise probability of coexistence"
should be:
"parameters to maximize the probability of coexistence"
Slide 16 and 17: Is it the intention to use British rather than American
spelling? (e.g., "maximise" versus "maximize"). The IEEE uses American
spelling in standards. Perhaps because Andrew will be presenting it,
the spelling should be correct from his point of view?
Slide 19: "9us", "4us" and "5us" should be "9 us", "4 us" and "5 us",
respectively (and in any other locations that it occurs, slide 20, for
example).
Slide 21: Add space between the number and "dBm" and between the number
and "MHz" (and throughout, e.g., slide 30).
Slide 29: Add space between the number and "ms" (and throughout, e.g.,
slide 37).
Slide 30: "ie" should be "i.e."
I don't know why this ballot required early close. Particularly with 53
slides to review.

Dear EC Members,
Paul has delegated to me the conduct of the EC electronic ballot on the following motion.

Background
As I explained at the July Plenary, IEEE 802 has been invited to make a presentation at the 3GPP Workshop on Licensed-Assisted Access (LAA). A presentation document was approved on an 802.19 conference call of August 10 by vote, open to anyone on call, of 21/0.0. Four of the 21 Yes voters were 802.19 voters.

Motion
Approve Liaison IEEE 802.19-15/0069r5 < https://mentor.ieee.org/802.19/dcn/15/19-15-0069-05-0000-ieee-802-submission-to-3gpp-laa-workshop.pptx > (under IEEE 802 Operations Manual section 8.1.1) from IEEE 802 to 3GPP, authorizing Andrew Myles to present at the August 29 LAA workshop. As determined by the 802 chair, editorial suggestions made during balloting may be incorporated into the final approved document.
Move: Steve Shellhammer
Second: Roger Marks
Start of ballot: Wednesday August 12, 2015
Close of ballot: Saturday August 22, 2015 AOE
Early close: As required in subclause 4.1.2 'Voting rules' of the IEEE 802 LAN/MAN Standards Committee (LMSC) Operations Manual, this is notice that, to ensure the release is provided in a timely manner, this ballot may close early once sufficient responses are received to clearly decide a matter.
