RE: 802 Position Statement on ISTO -Draft
Roger, I think Tony's wording is OK. I have also changed the title of this
document (Put the Emphasis on IEEE 802) to:
Subject: IEEE 802 Position Statement on IEEE 802.16 Broadband Wireless
Access (BWA) Working Group Conflict of Interest with recent IEEE-ISTO
announcement.
Unless I hear otherwise, I will send this out on Monday, 9:00am Dallas Time.
Please note this is NOT a press release, but rather an IEEE 802 Position
Statement, for dissemination within the IEEE and elsewhere.

Tony raised a good point. I would prefer:
"Nowhere does the announcement state the difference between a
forum-defined specification and an authentic IEEE Standard."
I think that Tony's version somewhat suggests that the production of
the specification is in the future. In contrast, the tone of the
press release is that the specification is already complete. For
example, consider the title ("BROADBAND WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS
GAINS HIGH SPEED STANDARD").
