WG chairs, With this message I would like to announce that I have initiated a working group ballot on P802-REVc ending on March 7th. The intent is to have comment resolution meetings at the March plenary. The announcement is attached and in the 802.1 email archive:
https://www.ieee802.org/1/private/email2/msg34985.html As confirmed during the November plenary, the working group ballot is following this process:
As a result I would ask the WG chairs to initiate comment collection on this draft in your WGs. Please let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Glenn. -- Glenn Parsons Chair, IEEE 802.1 WG +1-514-379-9037 To unsubscribe from the STDS-802-SEC list, click the following link: https://listserv.ieee.org/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=STDS-802-SEC&A=1 |

As this is a full Working Group ballot, only 802.1 voting members and ex-officio members are entitled to vote. Each IEEE 802 WG chair (as an ex-officio 802.1 voting member) is requested to collect and submit ballot comments on P802-REVc/D1.0 for their WG during this Working Group ballot. This process is recommended so that the WG chair vote can be recorded with the comments. The WG chair is not expected to change the commenter's name, review the comments collected or have WG consensus. The WG chair decides how they determine the vote on this ballot. However, any non-voting participants in the activities of 802.1 may submit a "Comments Only" ballot on the draft. In accordance with established practice in 802 and the IEEE, all comments received, whether from voters or non-voters, are given due consideration during the Ballot resolution process. As this is a formal WG ballot, if you vote "Approve" you are stating that, in your professional opinion, you consider the document to be technically complete, and ready for Sponsor ballot. Hence, sending in an "Approve" ballot response within a small number of minutes of the ballot start time cannot possibly mean that the voter has given the document the level of professional consideration necessary to make such a judgment. The 802.1 voting members that are entitled to a vote on this ballot are as follows (NOTE: for a WG ballot, the voting population is fixed at the start of the ballot, and does not change during any subsequent recirculation ballots, regardless of any membership changes over the course of the balloting cycle): Akizuki, Katsuyuki Arunarthi, Venkat Assmann, Ralf Bao, Huajie Belliardi, Rudy Blendin, Jeremias Boiger, Christian Bottorff, Paul Canchi, Radhakrishna Chen, Feng Choudhury, Abhijit Congdon, Paul Cummings, Rodney Dorr, Josef Elbakoury, Hesham Engelmann, Anna Enzinger, Thomas Farkas, Janos Fedyk, Donald Finn, Norman Garner, Geoffrey Gopal, Amrit Gunther, Craig Gutierrez, Marina Haddock, Stephen Hantel, Mark Holness, Marc Hopf, Daniel Huh, Woojung Itaya, Satoko Ito, Yoshihiro Karl, Michael Kehrer, Stephan Kiessling, Marcel Lai, Gavin Lopes, Joao Lv, Lily Mangin, Christophe Mansfield, Scott Mater, Olaf McCall, David McMillan, Larry Nakano, Hiroki Pannell, Donald R Parsons, Glenn Proell, Dieter Randall, Karen Riegel, Maximilian Rodrigues, Silvana Rouyer, Jessy Sato, Atsushi Schewe, Frank Seaman, Michael Seewald, Maik Sivakolundu, Ramesh Specht, Johannes Stamenic, Nemanja Stanica, Marius Steindl, Guenter Traore, Karim Turner, Max Varga, Balazs Venkatesan, Ganesh Wang, Tongtong Weber, Karl Wessels, Leon Winkel, Ludwig Woods, Jordon Yamaura, Takahiro Zeier, Uwe Zein, Nader Zhao, William Zinner, Helge It should be noted that the ongoing retention of 802.1 voting rights is predicated on active participation in Working Group ballots. Active participation is defined to be returning ballot responses in two out of the last three Working Group ballot series. A ballot series includes the initial WG ballot and any subsequent recirculation ballots. The 802 WG Rules allow abstention for any cause other than "lack of technical expertise" to be treated as though it were a failure to respond to a ballot. The closing date of this ballot is: 7 March 2023 The PDF file of P802-REVc/D1.0 can be found at: https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=31323334-501d5122-313273af-454445555731-20715969e52553f0&q=1&e=81a90f11-f051-4138-bf4f-c25195122a66&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ieee802.org%2F1%2Ffiles%2Fprivate%2F802-REVc-drafts%2Fd1%2FP802-REVc-d1-0.pdf Comments should be made against the version of the draft above. As is normal with such ballots, comments should specify not only what problems have been identified with the text, but also what the commenter proposes as a solution. Any comments accompanying the ballot must be presented using either of the templates to be found here: https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=31323334-501d5122-313273af-454445555731-d8ab7ba968758012&q=1&e=81a90f11-f051-4138-bf4f-c25195122a66&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ieee802.org%2F1%2Ffiles%2Fprivate%2Fcommenting-tool%2FMyBallot-tools%2F Please ensure that you are using one of the latest templates referenced by the link above, not a template from a prior ballot, and have completed the Affiliation entry. Comments can be generated using Excel or an equivalent spreadsheet program that will read XLS or CSV format files. Attach the resultant file, in XLS or CSV format, to your ballot response email. The editor would appreciate the attached comment file clearly identify the commenter's name, project and draft number.
