Hi Jon,
I have to say that I agree with you with respect to 'uncancelling' of meetings that were announced as cancelled, I have no objection to having calls at announced times, but I'm uncomfortable considering motions on those calls. I would much prefer we consider any motions by email ballot, we have seen in the recent past that we can successfully conduct an email ballot in combination with a call. With respect to additional teleconferences, I support the call on 7th April 2020, this will give IEEE 802 Working Groups and TAGs time to conduct 10-day email ballots on items after subgroup calls next week in time for consideration on the call. This is the approach that IEEE 802.3 will be taking, and I have asked the IEEE 802 Recording Secretary to move the IEEE 802.3 items from the 20th March 2020 call to the 7th April 2020 teleconference meeting.
Best regards,
David

Paul,
We sent out a "CANCELATION" notice for the March plenary Meeting.
I understand the desire to hold the telecons for Monday and Friday EC meetings in lieu of face to face meetings.
I do not believe we can both cancel and not cancel a meeting.
So I think that the notice period of our P&P applies and this does not match...
As we did for the March 5 call, it should not have any motions at the very least.
Regards,
Jon

Dear EC Members,
Even though we decided to cancel the face-to-face plenary session yesterday 5 March, there is no reason we can not meet remotely.
The 802 EC meeting notice has been made public well in ahead of the 30 day meeting notice requirement.
The opening and closing EC draft agendas were published 16 Feb (https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/20/ec-20-0017-01-00EC-802-ec-mar-2020-opening-agenda.xlsx and https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/20/ec-20-0018-01-00EC-802-ec-mar-2020-closing-agenda.xlsx) in advance of the 14 day publication requirement.
Therefore the 802 EC meetings scheduled for 8-9:30am ET Monday 16 March and 1-6pm ET Friday 20 March, will be held electronically. Please plan on participating and reserve the entire time slots for the meetings. This will allow us to keep projects moving forward despite the unusual and difficult circumstances. Thank you for your support on this.
Regards,
--Paul
