Dear all, I am having to send this again. The Listserv decided that the size of my previous message was in excess of the 5 MB limit. I’m not certain that was correct but there is no other
way to do this. Hence I am sending this with the smaller attachment, Document R15-WP1A-C-0060, while I will load the 4 MB document to the 802.18 Mentor website. There it will be 18-16-0054-00-0000 with the title “LED LIGHTING INTERFERENCE TO BROADCASTING SERVICES”. Best regards, Mike Michael Lynch IEEE Liaison to ITU-R From: Michael J. Lynch [mailto:MJLynch@MJLALLC.COM] Dear all, During ITU-R WP1A’a first 2016 meeting (June 2 – June 9) there was discussion of interference into radio broadcasting (especially Digital Audio Broadcasting – DAB) from LED lights and lighting
systems. Document R15-WP1A-C-0060 is the liaison to the following external organizations: CENELEC-CLC/TC210, ETSI, IEC and IEEE. LED lighting itself is simply a part of the problem. This may be a topic of interest to IEEE 802.15. Under the section titled “Future Work” WP1A says “Working Party 1A understands that work is in progress in several SDOs on combatting rising levels of RF noise emissions in general and the particular
problems associated with LED lighting units and systems, and would like to be informed about initiatives in this area.” They are requesting information regarding that topic for their next meeting (November 22 – 30, 2016). This is one of several topics that
has brought about the second meeting of WP1A in 2016. Also attached here is an input (document R15-WP1A-C-0055) from the European Broadcasting Union titled “LED LIGHTING INTERFERENCE TO BROADCASTING SERVICES”. I have included it here so as to provide
further details of what the discussion in WP1A was about. Glad to discuss. Best regards, Mike Michael Lynch ITU-R Liaison to ITU-R |
