John, Thanks. We have set up call monitoring and the robocall implementers think that they have gotten smart. When their equipment (or actual employees) realize that
they have reached an automated answering service they simply hang up. What they may not be counting on is that we can say what phone number called, when they called and generally how many times that they have called. It would be nice to be able to turn that data over to the FCC. While I have considered eliminating our digital “land line” we do receive legitimate calls on that
number – not many but enough where I don’t really want to go through the drill of notifying all of them to use our wireless numbers.
In any case it is nice to know that the FCC is getting serious about this. We’ve been on the “do not call” list since it first started. Having spoken to a few of
these robocall types it seems that they think that the lists either expire after a certain period of time or there is a lack of enforcement of the do not call rules. Best regards, Mike From: ***** IEEE 802 Executive Committee List ***** [mailto:STDS-802-SEC@ieee.org]
