[802SEC] IEEE 802 Preliminary Draft Liaison to 3GPP

Dear EC, RR-TAG and Liaison Drafting Group,

 

Please find attached the Preliminary Draft Liaison to 3GPP. This was developed over the past two days. What is needed now is a review by the EC (not a ballot at this time) to make certain the liaison is acceptable.

 

The intent when this work was started was to establish a liaison relationship with 3GPP that would allow IEEE 802 to share its experience in dealing with sharing between unlike radio technologies in the license exempt frequency bands. It has become known that 3GPP may consider development of a variant of LTE that would operate in the frequency bands that have been designated as license exempt.

 

Please provide any comments by CoB today, March 19th.
