[802SEC] news release from IEEE 802 participants should be aware of regarding
Dear EC members,
Please pass along the below information to your participants regarding the
privacy of some IEEE user IDs and passwords that may have been compromised.
I haven't received any specific guidance from the IEEE at this time, but I
believe it would be prudent to change your IEEE login password, I did.

IEEE Statement on Security Incident
25 September 2012 -- IEEE has become aware of an incident regarding
inadvertent access to unencrypted log files containing user IDs and
passwords. We have conducted a thorough investigation and the issue has been
addressed and resolved. We are in the process of notifying those who may
have been affected.
IEEE takes safeguarding the private information of our members and customers
very seriously. We regret the occurrence of this incident and any
inconvenience it may have caused.
