Colleagues, Don’t know if you saw this or not but things at Marina Bay Sands are definitely getting better. They are making a major push now to be ready for our Plenary Session next month. Judging from the F&B menus we are being offered this should be an exceptional event with some truly awesome things for our members to see and do; so please do remind your members that they really don’t want to miss out on this unique experience. We are now on final approach and looking to make a perfect landing soon !!! J

This month, Marina Bay Sands will not only celebrate its inaugural Lunar New Year but also a significant opening, with the world's first ArtScience Museum being introduced on February 17th, and our Wonder Full Light and Water Show following shortly after.
The addition of the ArtScience Museum and Wonder Full Light and Water Show to our popular list of attractions is another reason why, all over Asia, people are "buzzing" about Singapore and our integrated destination. This "buzz" was especially apparent at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) which our leisure sales team attended in Phnom Penh recently.

FULL HOUSE FOR ZEE CINE AWARDS
Bollywood took over Marina Bay Sands last month for the colourful and exciting Zee Cine Awards held in the Sands Grand Ballroom at the Sands Expo and Convention Center and live simulcast in the Expo Hall. It was a sensational evening with more than 6000 attending both events which saw superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jesia, Urvashi Sharma, Sophie Choudry, Hrithink Roshan with wife Susanne entertaining the crowds during the evening.

ARTSTAGE ATTRACTS 32,000 VISITORS
Singapore's largest contemporary art fair was held at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre during January. The four-day event attracted 32,000 visitors. Artists in attendance included renowned American photographer David LaChapelle who sold all of his 18 photographs which were priced between US$50,000 and US$180,000. Japanese pop art dynamo Takashi Murakami was also in attendance. The fair also included on-site series talks and discussions on contemporary art, some of which had only standing room.

The ArtScience Museum is a place where Art meets Science and where visitors can explore the mysterious connections between art and science as well as viewing some of the world's top exhibitions. Its first exhibition is the impressive "Genghis Khan: The Exhibition" offering the largest collection of his artifacts ever assembled in one venue. There will be more than 200 rare and authentic treasures on display. Life in 15th century Mongolia is also recreated complete with grasslands, battlegrounds and a life-size "ger" traditional nomadic dwelling. The Exhibition runs until April 10th.

Visitors to Singapore will soon be able to view a spectacular multimedia show called Sands' Wonder Full which is about the journey through life. The US$15-million (S$19-million) light and water show, set against the backdrop of the towering Marina Bay Sands hotel, will feature a 13-minute brilliant display of laser, light, water and graphics that can be seen within a 3.5-km radius of the Marina Bay Promenade. Two complimentary shows will run daily from Sundays to Thursdays, and there will be three shows on Fridays and Saturdays.

Rahman is best known for writing the music for Academy Award-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire.
