Re: [802SEC] +++EC 5 Day Review+++802.18 Comments on FCC Smart Grid Notice
Hi Mike,
I hate to insert myself in this conversation, but wouldn't it be clearer to
answer the questions with a designation of Answer 1A. Answer 2b no comment.
Etc, those are not the specific answers but editorially it seems less
confusing to make sure it is easy to see which is the question, and which
is the answer with the same original designation...
I suggest that even if it was done otherwise before, this is certainly
clearly understood, and a minor change editorially that may not need another
vote and nothing is changing except the referral back to the original
question. Can you not easily do this?
TO not do this forces those review at the FCC level, and indeed when
published replies come back, a seemless method....
Not trying to take sides....just clarity.
However, if this should present an issue of a lack of a timely response,
than I would forgo doing it but agree to change the format for the future.
Re wireless and wired, seems asked and answered, and the new releases 9/25,
leave room for further response to the various questions where one could
address wireless, wired, licensed, unlicensed, etc in a different manner if
it could be blended in.
Due Nov 9th....

Subject: [802SEC] +++EC 5 Day Review+++802.18 Comments on FCC Smart Grid
Notice
Dear EC,
On 4 September the FCC issued a notice calling for responses to their
questions regarding the implementation of Smart Grid technology. This is
related to the ongoing FCC work on the nationwide broadband proposal.. The
response time was somewhat better than the previous item that 802 responded
to but the timeframe was too short to allow a thorough response.
During last week's wireless interim 802.18, in conjunction with other WGs,
developed a response. That document (18-09-0105-05) is available at:
https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/documents
The FCC due date for the comments is 2 October.
Also available as 18-09-0104-00 is the FCC notice.
This document is being sent to you for the five day review process.
I am proposing that the EC review period begins now and closes on 1 October
and the 802.18 response will be filed on 2 October.
Regards,
Mike
