[802SEC] IEEE Members Invited to Attend IEEE Islands in Second Life Demo and Q&A Session
Dear EC members,
As I think all of you know, my son Kyle is developing the IEEE's Second Life presence. He is inviting IEEE members to participate in a demonstration of Second Life capabilities this Wednesday at 10AM and 10PM EDT. If you think your group participants would be interested in the demo, please pass this along.
From what I've seen, Second Life may be an interesting virtual way for us to conduct small (approximately 12) particpant meetings. I encourage you and your participants to check out the demo. Details are below.

IEEE Members Invited to Attend IEEE Islands in Second Life Demo and Q&A Session
On Wednesday, 5 August at 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. (EDT), IEEE members are invited to participate in a virtual demo and Q&A session about IEEE Islands in Second Life, an online 3-D virtual community where staff, volunteers, and members from around the world come together to explore and participate in the activities of IEEE. The session, held in the community’s IEEE Amphitheater, is a perfect opportunity to learn about IEEE Islands in Second Life and get involved in one of today’s most popular Web-based communication vehicles.
Because no more than 50 attendees can be supported within the conference at one time, attendees will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis as you enter the island.
If you are new to Second Life, you must first create an avatar before you can install the software.
