I must vote disapprove on this motion.
While I would like to support electronic distribution, there is too much
in this that requires further thought. Bandwidth is a problem, and we
are only talking mitigation ideas, we don't have a committed solution.
It is important in maintenance to have archival copies of superseded
standards (something the old CD-ROMs provide, but burn it yourself is
less robust on). Similar challenges for reloading my archive when I
have to go back to sources.
I'm afraid the costs of pressing a few more copies isn't compelling. I
only find one positive arguments for the current motion with it's less
than crisply defined specification, more frequent update of standards.
