802 ExCom members, I am writing to notify you of one 802.11 PAR that arose out of the Working
Group's January 2005 Monterey Interim session. This PAR work was done by the
Advanced Security Study Group and presented for approval by the WG membership. The
WG chair had clarified a quorum was present, by confirming that there were 327 voters present
at the session out of the 493 total 802.11 voting membership.
The
documentation for this PAR is included for you and your groups review. P802.11w: Protected Management Frames (amendment to
802.11) ·
Study
Group Vote: passes 23:0:4 ·
WG Vote: passes 106 : 0 : 2 ·
The
TGw Chair is to be confirmed at the March 2005 session, but the current Study
Group Chair Jesse Walker has offered his name for consideration. 802.11
intends to request forwarding the PAR to NesCom at the close of the March EC
meeting and will be pre-submitting them to NesCom. Should a request to forward be denied, the appropriate item will
be pulled from NesCom's agenda. Regards, Stuart _______________________________ Stuart J. Kerry Chair, IEEE 802.11 WLANs WG Philips
