To: STDS-802-SEC@LISTSERV.IEEE.ORG <STDS-802-SEC@listserv.ieee.org>

Dear colleagues,

I would like to request the review of the following draft IEEE 802 LMSC submission by Monday, 30 September 2024, A.O.E, before asking the EC to consider approval of the submission tentatively during the IEEE 802 LMSC monthly teleconference call on 1 October 2024.

On 22 August 2024, Mexico IFT begins a public consultation "Public Consultation on the Preliminary Draft of the Agreement by which the Plenary of the Federal Telecommunications Institute classifies the 64-71 GHz frequency band as free spectrum and issues the technical conditions for the operation of the band" that asks for opinion on its proposal in considering 64 GHz to 71 GHz as unlicensed spectrum with proposed technical conditions.  The administration proposes to allocate 64 GHz to 71 GHz as license exempt spectrum.

An individual prepared a response to support the administration's proposal, including the proposed technical conditions, and provide additional information about the past and current standards development activities in IEEE 802.11.  The submission was reviewed and approved by IEEE 802.18 on 12 September 2024 with the following voting results:  12 Yes, 0 No, 0 Abstain.
