Dear colleagues,
With this email I would like to announce the start of a LMSC ballot on a draft response to the European Commission Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG)’s consultation “Questionnaire on long-term vision for the upper 6 GHz band”.
James has delegated to me to conduct a LMSC (EC) 10-day electronic ballot on the motion below to approve the comments to the administration. This EC motion is per IEEE 802 OM 7.2.1 Procedure, P&P 7.1 b) (majority response) and P&P 7.1.2 (2/3 approval of votes cast) for communication with government bodies and public statements. With that we would like to see everyone respond.
Move to approve document https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/24/18-24-0072-07-0000-draft-response-to-eu-rspg-s-questionnaire-on-long-term-vision-for-the-upper-6-ghz-band.pdf for submission to RSPG before the submission deadline, with editorial license granted to the IEEE 802.18 chair.

Greetings. A further updated version (revision 7) is available for your review:When compared with revision 6 that was posted yesterday, I took into account Jodi's comment in replacing "P802.11bn" with "IEEE P802.11bn" at line 177 (thanks Jodi!).

WIth respect to the previous version, David's comments were taken into account and addressed (thanks a lot!).Regards,EdwardOn Fri, Aug 9, 2024 at 10:44 AM Edward Au <edward.ks.au@gmail.com> wrote:Dear EC members,
I would like to request the review of the following draft IEEE 802 LMSC submission by Monday, 12August 2024, A.O.E, before asking the EC to consider approval of the submission via a 10-day letter ballot.
Recently, the European Commission Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG) began a consultation “Questionnaire on long-term vision for the upper 6 GHz band”, which asks for public opinions on the way forward in utilizing this frequency band for different access technologies.
For this questionnaire, there are specific questions directed to WAS/RLAN in Section A and to UWB (as an incumbent service in the 6 GHz band) in Section B. A few individuals, who are active in IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15, and 802.18, prepared a response that responded to all of the questions in both Sections. The submission was reviewed and approved by IEEE 802.18 on 8 August 2024 with the following voting results: 10 Yes, 0 No, 1 Abstain.
