Dear IEEE 802 LMSC members, At the 17 November 2023 IEEE 802 LMSC closing plenary meeting, conditional approval was granted to submit IEEE P802.3df 400 Gb/s and 800 Gb/s Ethernet to RevCom. Details are provided in the attached report, but in summary, the response
to the IEEE 802 LMSC Operations Manual Clause 12 'Procedure for conditional approval to forward a draft standard' items are as follows. Based on these responses, I will go ahead and submit IEEE P802.3df to RevCom. Best regards, David -----
a)
The recirculation balloting is complete. The second Standards Association recirculation ballot occurred in accordance with the plan presented. The third Standards Association recirculation ballot is not required.
b)
The approval rate is 99%. No new disapprove votes were submitted during the second Standards Association recirculation ballot.
c)
No changes have been made.
d)
A total of 25 comments were received during the 2nd Standards Association recirculation ballot. The comment resolution group (CRG) responses to these comments can be accessed at <https://ieee802.org/3/df/comments/D3p2/8023df_D3p2_comments_final_id.pdf>.
Of these comments, six disapprove comments were not resolved to the satisfaction of the submitter. The CRG responses to these six unsatisfied comments can be accessed at <https://ieee802.org/3/df/comments/D3p2/8023df_D3p2_comments_unsatisfied_clause.pdf>.
Of these six, the comment resolution group (CRG) determined that three were not on new issues as they related to issues raised in previous unsatisfied comments, and three were not valid as they were not within the scope of the second Standards Association
recirculation ballot as they did not relate to substantive changes between IEEE P802.3df draft D3.1 and D3.2 or to text that was the subject of an unsatisfied negative comment.
e)
There are no new DISAPPROVE votes.
f)
