Hi George, Thought I would read through the document now. I had a few comments, so I thought I would email them out in advance of the meeting. Not sure about this phrase “in-person component is held at a mutually agreeable venue” We already have a method for 802 and the WGs to pick locations, provide notice, etc. Not sure we want to reproduce all of that in this
document. We may want to modify “laptop” to something that allows use of a computer or tablet. Clearly at home a person could use a desktop computer. And there are people who use tablets at times. So generalizing may be helpful. Not sure we need to say the Chair determines who can vote. We have rules on this topic. The document restricts voting to electronic. So are we saying that if we have 100 people in person and 5 people on the phone we can only do electronic voting? I presume the issue is it is hard to identify who is in-person
and who is remote, so it recommends electronic voting for everyone. Maybe that is okay. Not sure what “expense items” is about. Maybe that can be deleted. In general, I would not include anything in this document that is redundant to rules we already have. Could lead to duplication/confusion. Talk to you tomorrow.
