All – In addition to my duties on the EC, I occasionally serve as an editor on projects. As such, I have come across a situation where the limited-duration trial framemaker licenses we approved may create a problem. Consider if you are an editor on a project, and need the 802 license to sign up and fulfill your duties. Most 802 projects I am familiar with require editorial duties with framemaker access for at least 2, and often 3 years (some may be
more). If an editor needs an 802 license and begins work based on that, our current authorization expires in December 2021. That isn’t really useful. The next step is to find out if I’m the only one thinking this, so: First, I am inquiring to the working group chairs whether this is a problem for them. (to be honest, I hadn’t considered it until I came across it within my own editorial team).
If so, what time period would be sensible for a trial to run to completion?
