Yvette, Thank you for your prompt response – this will be useful for the page I created. Geoff, If I were to write them on a white board I can GUARANTEE you I will mess them up. I rely on the slides to get me to say the right things in the meetings. My displeasure is the growth of the mandatory slides. It’s somewhere around 10 slides now with patent, participation, dominance, copyright – did I miss anything. I didn’t say I hate following rules, you’re putting words in my mouth. My ask, as someone who has to use this file, is something I can easily incorporate into my slide deck. Dragging and dropping is the easiest way and this is done most easily from a native PPT file, not from a PDF. Now if SA want to take the slides, make them jpegs, and reinsert into a PPT (resulting in a PPT file where I cannot change the content), I have no heartburn with that. But my main point was, don’t burden me with extra work. Oh yeah, and trust me to do the responsible thing and not change the content on the SA derived slides (which I would never do). Chad Jones Technical Leader, Cisco Systems Chair, IEEE P802.3cv Task Force Chair, IEEE P802.3da Task Force Principal, NFPA 70 CMP3 Chad- You can write the rules on a white board in your meeting for all I care. That is between you and David. Rules from a higher authority should be published in (at least nominally) a read only medium. If this SA doesn't realize this then the EC should. That has nothing to do with how much you hate following IEEE meeting rules. Feel free total your complaints or suggestions to David. He is your representative and vote on the EC. As one of the people that will have to use this file to replace slides in my decks, I’d MUCH prefer the PPT (or POTX). With the POTX file, I can simply drag the slides into my deck. With the PDF, it’s a much more manual process of pasting in the images for each slide; then cropping, centering, etc. Geoff is overthinking this. I have no desire to modify any of the SA policies. Candidly, I hate having to read them for every meeting. I simply want to get through them with as little effort as possible, and that includes creating the slides. Technical Leader, Cisco Systems Chair, IEEE P802.3cv Task Force Chair, IEEE P802.3da Task Force Your version seems to have some font issues. I've attached a PDF (hopefully without any issues). I understand full well that the version that is posted is not the PDF. I assumed that upon my suggestion you might replace what is posted with a PDF version with the same content. I have enclosed such a file for your convenience. As close as I can tell "This page is maintained by John D'Ambrosia." Please replace the currently posted .potx file with the enclosed PDF.
I understand your point, however, I have not identified the link you are requesting. Jonathan / Jodi – is there a link to a pdf version of the copyright policy? The SA Copyright policy is posted there in ".potx" format. That is a template format that is oriented to the file being edited further. That seems inappropriate to me since it is their (i.e. the S.A.'s) policy and is a given as handed down. We don't get to fiddle. Wouldn't it be more appropriate for it to be posted as a PDF?
