Ben: I just talked to Rosdahl. I will be bringing an r1 of this to the WG mid-week for their approval, before submitting it formally as a PAR modification. Thanks. Rich Kennedy Director, Global Spectrum Strategy Board Director, Dynamic Spectrum Alliance Chair, IEEE 802.18 Radio Regulatory Technical Advisory Group Chair Emeritus, IEEE 802.11af WLAN in TVWS Chair, Wi-Fi Alliance Spectrum & Regulatory Task Group (737) 202-7014 From: Benjamin Rolfe [mailto:outlook_2CB8745B51AA14EB@outlook.com]
On Behalf Of Benjamin Rolfe I understand why Rich is driving - it is a change in scope (frequency of operation) due to changes in regulations. It is a reasonable change. The project timeline
has sponsor balloting more than a year away, so there seems time to work a PAR change through the WG.There are other issues with the PAR scope that will need attention before balloting completes. Jon's suggestion to work it in 802.11 seems plausible and it
may be more efficient to do just one PAR change. The extent of what will be needed should be more clear when the draft is more mature. The important thing is that the input from 802.18 not be forgotten IMO.
