In support of subclause 10.2 'IEEE 802 LMSC Approval' of the LMSC Operations Manual please find below the required information in respect to the IEEE P802.3cc Standard for Ethernet Amendment: Physical Layer and Management Parameters for Serial 25 Gb/s Ethernet Operation Over Single-Mode Fiber PAR for consideration at the March 2016 plenary.

[2] Explanatory technical background material:
The project is needed to provide multiple system operators and telecommunications operators with an IEEE 802.3 25 Gb/s Ethernet serial interconnect solution at reaches greater than 100 meters using single-mode fiber (SMF) for application areas including enterprise campus, carrier metro and other similar areas.
[3] Status of the development of the PAR:
The draft PAR and CSD responses are pending IEEE 802.3 Working Group approval at the March 2016 plenary.
