G'day all There are two types of comments from JTC1/SC6 NBs via the PSDO prooces
·
Technical comments
·
Procedural comments
o
eg China NB comments related to referencing of IETF RFCs The former are clearly within the scope of the WG, and are best answered by the WG. The answer will often be that the WG will consider the comment as part of the normal maintenance process. The latter are often best handled by the IEEE
802 JTC1 SC because the answers need to be consistent across all WGs. As we mature, we seem to be naturally transitioning from a process in which the JTC1 SC was the centre of all response activity to a process in which the WGs develop and approve the responses, but take advice from the JTC1 SC on the
procedural comments. I will document this process at some point so it is clear to all Andrew From: ***** IEEE 802 Executive Committee List ***** [mailto:STDS-802-SEC@ieee.org]
On Behalf Of Stephens, Adrian P Hello Paul, From 802.11: SG request related to Positioning (probably called “Next Generation Positioning”). Do we need to confirm SGs at every plenary? If so, I will ask to renew the Next Generation 60GHz study group. No drafts to sponsor. No drafts to revcom. No maintenance pars. No press releases. We did receive responses from ISO/IEC JTC1/SC6 ballots of 802.11ac and 802.11af. TGmc will prepare a response (Doc 11-13-0123r7 contains the tentative responses), but I understand the approval path
is via the 802 JTC1 TAG, not from the WG. Best Regards, Adrian P STEPHENS Tel: +44 (1793) 404825 (office) Tel: +1 (408) 2397485 (mobile, USA) ---------------------------------------------- From: ***** IEEE 802 Executive Committee List ***** [mailto:STDS-802-SEC@ieee.org]
