Pat Thaler [mailto:pthaler@broadcom.com] Hi Adrian, I’m not sure why there is a distinction between mission statement and statement of purpose. That could be collapsed to one line. [Stephens, Adrian P] I’d differentiated between something highly polished “mission – what we’d
like to do” and a plain statement of what we do. In practice there is a grey scale from the almost non-existent (802.11) to the
award-winning. I’ll collapse the rows. 802.1 has a link to the drafts area as a whole in addition to the links from the TG pages – though perhaps the label isn’t obvious
– it’s Committee Docs at the top right of the links in the header. 802.3 has a link to its rules page on its main page. From:

Stephens, Adrian P Dear EC, I took an action (well, I kind of took it, and kind of had it thrust upon me) to survey the 802 websites to determine commonality. My survey is attached. If you are a webmaster, please send me any corrections/additions. (I’d appreciate a link or other pointer to the missing information along with any corrections). What this tells me is: 1.
The question of organization (by category or by TG) is fairly evenly split with TG winning out (just). 2.
Groups are highly variable in the amount of “helpful” information we provided. Any analysis beyond this point would probably invalidate the warrantee on my asbestos underwear.
