Paul, 802.11 has certainly been using the MoU with ETSI to exchange information and we expect to continue doing so. It appears that 802.11 should start the review/commitment discussion in Indian Wells this week during the closing plenary. There has been no prior activity in 802.11 to identify refinements to the MoU. If the EC motion ensures that each identified WG has looked over the MoU and agreed to support it then that’s a good idea. But, it would also be logical that, as a precursor, each WG should conduct its own vote on the matter and report results to the EC. Bruce From: ***** IEEE 802 Executive Committee List ***** [mailto:STDS-802-SEC@ieee.org] On Behalf Of Paul Nikolich Dear EC Members, Moira Patterson (M.Patterson@ieee.org ) of IEEE SA staff is spearheading the renewal of the SA/ETSI MOU and is looking for feedback from the 802 Working Groups to see whether there is interest in having specific 802 WG projects incorporated into the MOU. See the below email and attached slide deck for more details. Please contact Moira with any questions you may have, and whether or not the WG is supportive of the suggested 'areas of mutual interest' in the slide deck, or if there are other areas of mutual interest that should be added. My feeling is I should put a Motion to confirm the 'areas of mutual interest' on the closing EC agenda in November to formally endorse 802's position on the MOU--any thoughts regarding that proposed course of action?
