Re: [802SEC] ++++ EC Ballot to approve P802.11s press release ++++
Bruce:
I'll vote approve, but recommend an update to the 802 boilerplate -- it is wrong, bad, etc. Work is not continuing for Token Ring. It uses Wi-Fi first for 802.11 and then Wireless LAN later. (The successes are not well linked to the continuing work.)

Subject: [802SEC] ++++ EC Ballot to approve P802.11s press release ++++
Dear EC members,
In anticipation of IEEE P802.11s (Mesh Networking) being approved for publication by SASB this weekend I am requesting approval of a press release associated with the event.
During its July meeting WG11 developed a draft press release that was subsequently edited by Karen McCabe and approved by the working group.
I'm now seeking EC approval to publish the press release which can be found here:
https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/11/11-11-0984-08-000s-tgs-press-release.doc
Paul has delegated the conduct of the EC electronic ballot on the following motion to me. I am announcing the possibility of an 'early close' to this ballot (see below).
Best regards,
Bruce
Motion
======
The EC supports the IEEE P802.11s press release with editorial changes as deemed necessary.
Move: Bruce Kraemer
Second: Jon Rosdahl
Start of ballot: Tuesday 6th September 2011
Close of ballot: Friday 16th September 2011, 11:59PM AOE
Early close: As required in subclause 4.1.2.2 'Electronic Balloting' of the IEEE project 802 LAN/MAN Standards Committee (LMSC) Operations Manual, this is notice that, to ensure the release is provided in a timely manner, this ballot may close early once sufficient responses are received to clearly decide a matter.
