Re: [802SEC] Proposed minor edits for press release
Geoff,
Thanks.
I've received a few spelling error comments as well- I'll roll everything together.

Subject: Proposed minor edits for press release
Bruce-
A couple more suggested edits.
Minor, purely tidying up the grammar:
"Enhancements are not limited to data rate, and the IEEE 802.11 working group is addressing aspects such..."
Change the comma to either a full stop/period or a semicolon, i.e.:
"... rate. The IEEE..."
-OR-
"... rate; the IEEE..."
A little more substantially:
About IEEE 802
The IEEE 802(r) LAN/MAN Standards Committee develops LAN and metropolitan area network (MAN) standards. The most widely used standards are for the Ethernet family, Token Ring, Wireless LAN, Wireless PAN, Wireless MAN, Wireless RAN, Bridging and Virtual Bridged LANs. An individual working group provides the focus for each area. Decisions by the IEEE 802 working groups will shape communications for years to come. For more information about the IEEE 802 LAN/MAN Standards Committee, see http:// ieee.org/ 802.
I think it would be more accurate and better to say:
The IEEE 802(r) LAN/MAN Standards Committee has developing interoperable LAN and metropolitan area network (MAN) standards for over 30 years.802.11 (WiFi) and 802.15 PAN (as Bluetooth). Its most well-known and transformative successes have been Ethernet and Ethernet switching, Token Ring,
Its work continues for the Ethernet family, Wireless LAN, Wireless PAN, Wireless MAN, Wireless RAN, Bridging and Virtual Bridged LANs. Individual working groups provides the focus for each area. Decisions by the IEEE 802 working groups will shape communications for years to come. For more information about the IEEE 802 LAN/MAN Standards Committee, see http:// ieee.org/ 802.
I am, of course, open to alternative opinions on the lattter.
Geoff
