Pat-
The disbandment of the 802.2 WG is not related to whether the 802.2 
standard should continue to exist.  We have already made the decision 
about the standard and we support its disappearance. Each Working Group 
has the action item to change their references from 802.2 to the ISO 
version.

The ISO version is already formally stabilized and requires no further 
action in the future (unlike IEEE stabilization which requires 
occasional reaffirmation)

I believe that we made a decision about all of this in the EC last year.
(Whether each WG has formally recorded that AI and will actually do 
anything about it is another matter, mostly of record keeping.)
