Subject: [802SEC] +++EC Ballot+++IEEE802 Comments to UK Ofcom +++Closes
30 April
Dear EC,
Paul has authorized me to initiate a 7-day ballot for the following
motion:
"The EC approves the submission of Doc. 18-09-0054-05, 'IEEE802 Ofcom
Comments' in response to the UK Ofcom consultation titled 'Digital
Dividend and Cognitive Access, Consultation on licence exempting
cognitive devices using interleaved spectrum' as an 802 document. The
chair of 802.18 is authorized to do necessary formatting and editorial
changes and, using the document as a template, create the appropriate
input to Ofcom."
The document is available at https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/documents
Interleaved spectrum is what the US FCC calls "white spaces". Work on
this submission began at the March plenary and was finally completed on
23 April after during a series of 802.18 conference calls. The response
date to Ofcom is 1 May which makes the shortened ballot period
necessary.
Moved: Mike Lynch
Second: Bruce Kraemer
Start of ballot: 23 April, 2009
End of ballot: 30 April or 24 hours after the last EC member votes.
Regards,
Mike
Chair, 802.18
