[802SEC] Minutes from electronic participation experiment EC Meeting
All,
A meeting was held to discuss the results of the electronic
participation experiment in Windsor from roughly 12:30 to 1:30 PM today.
Present at the meeting were:
Matthew Sherman
Bruce Kraemer
Bob Heile
David Bagby
Mark Klerer
Buzz Rigsbee
Adrian Stephens
Max Riegel
Tom Kolze
Jon Rosdahl
John Hawkins
There was general discussion on the topic of electronic participation at
meetings, tools available to support electronic meetings, cost of such
tools, the pros and cons of electronic vs in-person and mixed meeting
modes, and electronic tools for use at in-person meetings as well.
Max Riegel made the following statement and Tom Kolze agreed with it and
asked that it be noted in the minutes: "There are different kinds of
meetings. Some are not suited to electronics, and some are. Fresh
ideas work best if you are physically together."
There were no specific actions out of the meeting. However it was noted
that Paul Nikolich requested Adrian Stephens to investigate voting tools
that could be used for face to face meetings. Matthew Sherman noted
that this was the direction he would have gone if he had continued this
effort (which he is not!)
That completes these minutes.
