All, At the September interim 802.18 developed, in cooperation with 802.15, a letter to IEC TC 76. It expressed concern about the adverse impact of a particular recommendation on communications by visible light. That letter was sent to the EC for the five day review process. The September letter is available on 802.18's Mentor web site. The attached letter is a response from the chair of IEC TC 76. While not immediate it seems that TC 76 had similar concerns and that a solution has been developed. This should allow the work in 802.15 to proceed.
