Re: [802SEC] +++EC Email Ballot+++Motion for electronic distribution of standards to 802+++closes 10 OCT 2007
I vote Disapprove for same reasons as Roger on this.
If we can do a pilot as suggested by Buzz and alleviate some of the
concerns raised, I would be happy to change my vote.
Kind Regards

I vote Disapprove.
I really like Bob O'Hara's idea to do electronic distribution, but I
don't think that the conditions are right. Downloading during the
week of the meeting is going to eat up bandwidth, on our LAN and
(because of the requirement to use IEEE servers) on our backhaul. And
it also threatens to eat up our personal bandwidth. I wouldn't be
surprised if all of us ended up fielding a lot of questions and
complaints. And I can imagine my members spending time reviewing the
list of documents, picking and choosing which ones they need and
asking their neighbors for help and advice. I'm afraid this could
turn out to be a distraction from our work.
I'd prefer to see the usual motion to cover CD production costs.
