[802SEC] Summary of Fifth IMT Advanced Correspondence Group Conference Call - 12 April

Dear EC,

On 19 April the RR-TAG held the fifth conference call of the IMT
Advanced correspondence group. This group continues the work begun
during the March plenary in Orlando. The group's goal is to develop an
input for the May meeting of ITU-R WP8F in Kyoto.

The IEEE 802 WGs represented were 802.11, 802.15, 802.16, 802.20, 802.21
and 802.22. The correspondence group itself consists of the WG chairs
who expressed an interest in participating during the March plenary
meeting plus the RR-TAG. The WG chairs may appoint delegates to deal
with drafting the document but only the WG chairs (and voting members of
the RR-TAG) will be able to vote.

The fifth conference call was intended to be the final call after which
the document would be balloted, first in 802.18 then by the
participating WGs and the EC. The latter ballots were intended to be 15
day ballots to run in parallel, with a date reserved for comment
resolution.

It now is necessary to have a sixth conference call to complete the
drafting process. That call will occur on 26 April. In having a call on
that date the only possible way to meet the ITU-R WP8F submission
deadline of 16 May will be to modify the original time line. The WG and
EC ballots were originally planned for 15 days but now need to be
shortened to 10 days. The date for the 802.18 ballot has been moved to
30 April, and the document now needs to be passed to the ITU-R liaison
on 15 May.

The link below will take you to the r2 version of Doc.18-07-0030 which
provides the revisions for the development time line. The original time
line was agreed in the r1 version during the 22 March (1st) conference
call. Changes to the document are in blue and italics.

for two hours beginning at 1:30 p.m. PDT.
