Andrew, I thing having such a presentation is a very good idea. I think the following topics worth discussing are, * The roles of the two groups and how to deal with situations when the IEEE is perceived as going too slow (e.g. 11e, 11n) * Why the IEEE needs to standardize WMM. I think we need to get this straightened out so we can prepare the PAR and agree on the scope. * The WFA certification of 802.11n based on the current draft. How do the two groups avoid potential issues if the standard starts to drift from D2.0 Regards, Steve ________________________________ From: ***** IEEE stds-802-11 List ***** [mailto:STDS-802-11@LISTSERV.IEEE.ORG] On Behalf Of Andrew Myles Sent: Monday, March 26, 2007 10:02 PM To: STDS-802-11@LISTSERV.IEEE.ORG Subject: [802-11WG] WFA presentation in Montreal G'day all, Stuart Kerry (Chair of the 802.11 WG) has invited the Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) to present during the mid week 802.11 WG plenary in Montreal in May. I will be making the presentation on behalf of the WFA. The invitation is part of a renewed effort by both organisations to work more closely together. The presentation will probably include a relatively detailed description of WFA context, goals, future plans and needs, focusing on those areas of common interest with the 802.11 WG. However, the presentation is likely to be more successful if it includes WFA related topics that are known to be of interest or concern to 802.11 WG members. Therefore, if any 802.11 WG member would like to see particular topics addressed please send me an e-mail (copied to Stuart Kerry) with the details of what you would like to hear about?
