Re: [802SEC] Draft Agenda for March Monday EC Meeting
Steve,
My expectation is that the Tuesday meeting will decide/schedule any
other needed meetings. I do not want to prejudge what the group will
decide to do.
What also needs to have been done by each of the WGs is to decide if
they want to be included in developing an input(s) to WP8F. While I have
seen some discussions on various reflectors I can't think of any WG that
has yet taken that decision. Hopefully those with an interest can do
that by Tuesday evening. While there is no intent to limit the
participation I see the WGs (and .19) being represented by their chair
and such other experts as the chair feels is needed. For Tuesday night
there will have to be a vote to approve the work method which naturally
will include a schedule of meetings.
The process that was discussed in London was that individual working
groups would bring in approved proposals. Within 802.18 the proposals
can be combined/harmonized. That work would be done by the WG chairs
with the support of such experts as the chair feels is needed. It seems
logical that the final joint proposal(s) is(are) reviewed by the WGs
that contributed to the work. We will have to address voting rights for
the chairs of any groups where that has not already been resolved.
Based on my view of the WG/TAG chair's normal work schedules the evening
sessions seem to work best. Let's do try and avoid working during the
social!
Regards,
Mike

Mike,
What is your expectation for March regarding IMT-Advanced? It
sounds like you only have one evening planned. Do you expect working
groups to be bringing in documents on IMT-Advanced requirements at the
March meeting? If any of the working groups bring in any documents for
review, you may need more evening meetings.
By the way, I think evening meetings are a great way to go since
many of the working groups meet often the full day every day.
Regards,
Steve

Bob,
Please add under LMSC Items that I will provide a report on the 802.18
IMT Advanced Requirements Meeting that was held 16 January. My purpose
is to make certain that everyone is up to date on what occurred and are
aware that Tuesday evening (13 March) there will be another session to
determine which 802 WGs will participate and affirm the work method.
The report of the meeting was distributed to the EC 22 January. I will
resend it as a "reminder" prior to the Orlando meeting.
Thanks!
Regards,
Mike
