[802SEC] EC Five Day Review: Proposed 802.18 FCC comments regarding the use of TV "white spaces"
Dear EC Members,
During last week's IEEE 802 Joint Interim IEEE 802.18 and IEEE 802.22
approved comments to the FCC regarding the current proceeding on
allowing unlicensed devices to operate in the "white spaces" that exist
in the TV broadcast frequency bands. Joint work with IEEE 802.22 on this
particular document was started last year. That effort was preceded by
other inputs to the FCC on this topic which were recognized by the FCC
in their current FNPRM.
I am presenting the draft comments for five-day review and propose that
the review period end Friday, 26 January. They will be filed with the
FCC on 31 January.
