P802.1Qav PAR
802.1 have received two sets of comments on the draft PAR and 5C that
were circulated prior to this meeting; one from 802.11 and one from
Bob Grow (as an individual, not from 802.3). The gist of both sets of
comments was that the PAR should explicitly state support for both
wired and wireless technologies.
This sentiment was supported by the participants of the AV Bridging
Task Group, and they therefore modified the wording of the Scope,
Purpose, and Need to reflect the requested changes. The rewording of
the Scope is not identical to 802.11's proposed wording, but we
believe our wording carries the same meaning; the Purpose and Need
were modified using 802.11's proposed wording verbatim. We believe
that the revised wording also addresses Bob Grow's comments.
The revised draft PAR is here:

The 5C remain unchanged from the text pre-circulated, and can be found here:
http://www.ieee802.org/1/files/public/docs2006/av-p802-1qav-draft-5c-1006-v07.pdf
These documents will be on the 802.1 plenary agenda for approval on
Thrusday afternoon and will be submitted to the EC for forwarding to
NesCom on Friday afternoon.
Regards,
Tony
