Re: [802SEC] The IEEE 802 Wednesday evening Social.
Paul, I have already taken action to put 3 simple questions re: the Social into our March Web-Registration form. This will allow us to collect the data from all who web-register and we should have more than enough data available to report the result trends during the March Plenary session. I tried to avoid complex multiple choice questions because they are often hard to interpret, require extra time from registrants to answer properly, and can be hard to interpret for non-native English speakers. My response plan is if we get a really strong consensus on any of the possible changes, we will develop a plan to implement for either SF or Vancouver depending on logistics concerns that we can report in an email announcement to all WGs and 802ALL. If the responses shows mixed results with no clear favorites among our attendees, we will attempt to develop some more detailed questions that will explore more options. If the consensus is to make no changes, we will do just that.
Go to Web-Reg and try it to see what you think.
Thanx, Buzz

Buzz,
Once again, I am now just catching up on an email thread I have neglected. Sorry for the delayed response. I agree with Bill Q's recommendation on collecting data to allow the EC to make an informed decision on the Wed evening social. Is it feasible to collect information from a questionaire (similar to the one BillQ recommend below) before the March 2005 plenary such that you can present the results of the data collection to the EC in March and we can decide what to do then? That would help a lot.
Personally, I think we should try to give our hard working participants a nice mid-week break that they look forward to attending, even if it means increasing the registration fees a bit.
Regards,
--Paul
