Attached is an 802.18 document submitted for the required 5 day EC pre-filing review, according to Procedure 4 of the LMSC P&P. This document contains comments in support of a Petition for Reconsideration, filed by the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council ("NPSTC"), asking that the FCC reconsider the adoption of an overly-restrictive spectral mask for the 4.9 GHz public safety band that would preclude the use of 802.11a equipment/technology without significant modifications that would result in a "niche market," cause the cost of equipment to skyrocket, and result in limited sources/competition in the market for equipment. This document was approved by an 87.5% majority of the voting members, with a valid quorum present, via a teleconference meeting that was duly noticed in accordance with LMSC TAG rules. If no motion to block filing is made by Sunday, Aug. 31 at 6:00 pm EDT, I will do the final formatting and file the document electronically on Mon., Sept.1 or Tue., Sept. 2. If there are any questions, please contact me ASAP, as responses to Petitions for Reconsideration are on a very short fuse under FCC rules. Regards, Carl R.
