Upcoming Elections - More Information
During this year's chair elections, both Vic Hayes and Bill Lidinsky have
served ten years and are no longer eligible to run for office.
1) New chairs from 802.1 and 802.11 and any other changes should be able to
submit a letter from their company per operating rules in Section 3.2:

Each member of the Executive Committee shall, prior to confirmation by the
executive committee, file with the Recording Secretary a letter of
endorsement from their sponsoring organization. This letter is to document
several key factors relative to their participation on the Executive
Committee and is to be signed by both the executive committee member and an
individual who has management responsibility for the Executive Committee
member. This letter shall contain at least the following:
1. statement of qualification based on technical expertise to fulfill the
assignment, and
2. statement of support for providing necessary resources (e.g., time,
travel expenses to meetings), and
3. recognition that the individual is expected to act in accordance with the
conditions stated in 3.4.1 Voting Guidance dealing with voting "as both a
professional and as an individual expert."

2) Vic Hayes has agreed to remain on the SEC as an ex-oficio voting member
for the next two years responsible for national, regional and international
regulatory issues. In this capacity, Vic will:
a) Develop a process for submitting letters to government agencies on behalf
of 802.
b) Develop a process for submmitting positions to the ITU-T and ITU-R and
determine how to best represent the IEEE 802 at these activities.
c) Tune-up IEEE 802 liaison strategies.
